Cookie policy
PrFlare is committed to communicating to members in an open and clear manner about how data relating to them is collected and used. This policy explains in detail how and when PrFlare uses cookies. This Cookie Policy applies to all PrFlare products and services that reference it or incorporate it by reference.
Does PrFlare use cookies?
Yes, cookies and other technologies are used on the PrFlare website to maximize the user experience for all members. Cookies also help to keep member accounts secure. By continuing to browse or use PrFlare's services, you consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described in this policy.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small file stored on a member's device that enables the use and functionality of PrFlare features. For example, cookies allow us to identify your device, protect your access to PrFlare and our sites in general, and even help us recognize if someone tries to log into your account from another device. Cookies also make it easier for members to share content on PrFlare and help us show ads that match your interests.
When does PrFlare save cookies on my browser?
PrFlare uses cookies on its websites (e.g. PrFlare.com). Any browser receives cookies from PrFlare when you visit these sites.
What types of cookies are used in PrFlare?
PrFlare uses two types of cookies: persistent and session cookies. A persistent cookie allows a member to be recognized, making it easier to resume using PrFlare or interacting with PrFlare services without having to log in again. Once a login is performed, a persistent cookie remains in the browser and is read by PrFlare when the member returns to one of our sites. Session cookies are only stored for one session (typically the current website visit or browser session).
What are cookies for?
Cookies are used to recognize a member when they visit the PrFlare website, remember their preferences, and provide a personalized user experience based on their personal preferences. Cookies also make interactions between members and PrFlare faster and more secure. In addition, they allow us to display advertisements both on and off PrFlare's sites.
| Usage categories | Description |
|---|---|
| Authentication | Once a member logs into the PrFlare website, cookies help show them the information they need and personalize their experience with PrFlare. |
| Safety | Cookies are used to enable and support security features and to detect unwanted activity and violations of the PrFlare User Agreement. |
| Settings, features and services | Cookies tell PrFlare about a participant's preferred language and message preferences. They also help participants fill out forms in PrFlare. Cookies also enable features, statistics, and the display of personalized content through plugins. For more information about plug-ins, please see PrFlare's Privacy Policy. |
| Advertisement | Cookies may be used to display relevant advertising both on and off the PrFlare website. They can also be used to obtain data about whether a person who has viewed an advertisement has visited the advertiser's site and performed an action (such as downloading an information document or making a purchase). Similarly, our partners may use cookies to verify that an advertisement has been shown, evaluate its effectiveness, and provide us with information about how participants interact with it. Together with our partners, we may also show you ads both on and off the PrFlare website, such as when you visit the website or use a partner's app. |
| Efficiency, analytics and research | Cookies help us evaluate the performance of our website and plug-ins in different regions. They are also used to evaluate, research and improve products, features and services, including when you access PrFlare from other websites, applications or devices, such as your work computer or mobile device. |
What is a denial of traceability (DNT)?
Tracking bans are a concept proposed by government regulators, such as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), for companies in the Internet industry. These companies have been asked to develop and implement a mechanism that allows Internet users to control the tracking of their Web browsing activities using their browser settings. The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is developing the DNT standard in collaboration with industry groups, browser developers, technology companies, and regulators. Despite some progress, development has been slow. To date, the standard has still not been adopted. Because of this, PrFlare generally does not respond to "do not track" signals.
How are cookies used for advertising purposes?
Cookies and other advertising technologies such as beacons, single-pixel images and tags help PrFlare to more effectively display relevant advertising. They also help provide aggregated audit, research and reporting data to advertisers, to evaluate and improve the services we provide, and to know that content has been shown to you. Note. Because your web browser may request ads and beacons directly from the servers of third-party advertising networks, these networks may view, modify and set third-party cookies in the same way that they do when you request a web page from their site. Advertisements displayed by PrFlare may also set third-party cookies.
If you log in to PrFlare.com or another Service that links to this Cookie Policy, or if you browse a third-party PrFlare partner site and one of our cookies on your device recognizes you as a user, information about your use of resources (such as browsing actions) and log data (such as your IP address) will be linked to your account as specified in PrFlare's Privacy Policy. In addition, we use aggregated data from third parties, data from your profile and information about your activity on PrFlare.
If a PrFlare member logs out of their browser account, PrFlare may continue to log that member's interactions with our services on that browser for up to 30 days. This is for the purpose of preparing analytics on the use of PrFlare's services that may be provided in aggregate form to our advertisers.
Until you delete said cookies on your browser, we may use this information for the following purposes:
- Showing more relevant ads that match your interests;
- Providing summarized reports on advertising activity to advertisers and advertising websites;
- Helping website and app owners understand how visitors interact with their sites or apps;
- Detecting and protecting against fraud and other threats to keep users and partners safe;
- Improving the quality of our products.
For more information about PrFlare's use of cookies and similar technologies for advertising purposes, and the controls available to Members and Visitors, please see PrFlare's Privacy Policy section.
What third-party cookies are used by PrFlare?
Please note that the names of cookies, single-pixel images and other technologies may change over time. Also note that companies and other organizations that sponsor pages on PrFlare may use cookies, single-pixel images and other technologies on their PrFlare pages to learn about your interest.
Managing cookies
Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through settings. However, if you prevent websites from saving cookies, this may reduce your user experience because they are no longer personalized for you. You may also lose the ability to save personalized settings, such as login information.
What if you don't want cookies to be stored or you want to delete them?
If you are a Visitor, you can opt out of receiving advertising cookies. If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may also change your browser settings on the computer or other device you use to access PrFlare services. If you continue to use PrFlare without changing your browser settings, we will assume that you are happy to receive all cookies from the PrFlare website. In addition, most browsers offer the ability to view and delete cookies, including PrFlare cookies. Please note that without cookie support, the PrFlare website will not function properly.
